Bones: Tarsals, Tibia, Fibula, Patella, Femur, Pelvis, Ribs, & Sternum, Phalanges, Radius, Humerus, Ulna, Clavicle, Mandible...Oh my Cranium. Muscles: Gastrocnemius, Hamstring, Gluteus Maximus, Latissimus Dorsi, Trapezius, Deltoid, Triceps, Biceps, Pectoralis Major, Retus Abdominus, Quadriceps. |
Fuel up to Play 60 is a nation wide program. This year we 'took it up a notch' and I've selected a 'Fuel up to Play 60' ambassador team. This team was selected based on leadership qualities that best represent the Fuel up to Play mission (healthy lifestyle=eating right & getting active for at least 60 min/day). The purpose of the team is to bring awareness to the Spicewood community. The team understands it is vital for children to play/be active for 60 minutes every day. They also realize their bodies are growing and need the appropriate fuel to allow their bodies to function properly. Our involvement in this program awarded us a $100 gift card to be used on PE equipment.

Healthy Texas Week April 4-10, 2016: Monday - SMART CHOICES Meals should be balanced - avoiding snacks with too much sugar, try and add a protein in if possible (apple with spoonful of peanut butter) Tuesday - Re-Energize / SWEAT Focus on something for 30 minutes followed by a short break. Stand and stretch do some quick exercises. Wednesday - HYDRATION Talk about importance of water Bodies are made of 75% water . Replace water instead of a juice,soda or milk for at least 1 meal.. Thursday - SLEEP 10-11 hours of sleep each night is needed it is as important as exercise and nutrition. Try shutting off electronics a couple hours before bed, Friday - Help and Encourage Others Talk about what this means and how you feel when others say or do something kind towards you. How can you be that person. smiling, picking up trash at school, giving a compliment , give a high five. |
